True Reef Aquatics is a small grow-out operation in mid-eastern Missouri. We grow exotic coral on our own racks and sell it in small drops — photographed honestly, guaranteed plainly.
Why we exist
Buying coral online usually means gambling: photos shot to flatter, guarantees written to escape, and frags that arrive looking nothing like the listing. We started True Reef to sell coral the way we'd want to buy it — the photo tells the truth, the frag was grown here, and if something goes wrong, we make it right.
Where we are right now
The racks went live in August 2026. Broodstock is settling in and encrusting, and nothing is for sale yet — Drop 001 opens when the frags are genuinely ready, not before. That honesty costs us a year of patience. We think it's the whole point.
We're documenting the grow-out in the open on Instagram — the good weeks and the ugly ones. By the time Drop 001 opens, you'll have watched every coral in it grow up.
What we hold ourselves to
Our photography, husbandry, and guarantee commitments are published — read the standard and the guarantee. They go live before any coral does.
